Now, I never was an orphan, but I wrote this for a dear friend that was, and this a journey of an orphan's way to becoming a child of God, and having a family.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Abandoned and alone.
Then you come and raise me from the dust.
You raise me to the sky
I feel as if I’m flying!
Then you tell me.
Do you want this to last?
I cry yes! Forever!
You grab my hand and hold it tight.
You point to the cross.
That is way.
The way to eternal love.
Then ran to the cross
At the foot of the cross was Jesus.
I jumped in his arms
He says, “I know you are alone,
But now longer shall you be that way.”
“But, Lord, who? I am but an orphan, the Unwanted one.”
The lord replies, “you may have been abandoned,
But you are wanted. I want you more than you could ever know.”
Tears come falling off my face, “you love me?”
The Lord responds, “yes, more than anything.”
I grab him and hug him. I was filled with joy.
No longer was I a unwanted burden, I was now a child of God.
“I will use you in many ways, the person that showed you the cross,
Loves you also. She is going to take you and raise you as a beautiful Daughter.
She is adopting you.” Says the Lord.
“Oh, Lord! I’m overwhelmed! I am filled with joy”
“Child, don’t you don’t have to call me Lord, just call me daddy. I will always be with you.” Says the Lord. “Alright, Daddy, I will do you proud!”
I step down and grab the ladies hand who showed me the cross.
The Lord replies, “The road ahead will not be easy, but with the people surrounding you and me, you can get through anything. I love you”
I grab his hand too and say, “Please, both stay by my side, and don’t let go. I love you.” The Lord replies, “I will never let go.”
